Default Front license plate hole plugs

I was about to put the plugs in the front license plate holes and noticed that when I pushed on the plug, the metal bracket (into which the screws go) got pushed back. Just wondering how to install the plugs now. I can't get my hand behind the bumper to stabilize the metal piece, so what now?

Thanks
D

You'll have to remove the bumper. Do it soon before that little piece pops all the way out and goes bouncing down the road.

Bumper removal is pretty easy. 10mm wrench and a screwdriver.....along with about an hour of your time (total).

I did the same thing 2 days ago!

But! I didnt removed the bumper and fixed it....here's the fix:

use the 2 original bolts that screws on the license plate frame to screw (lightly with soft hands =) on the bracket that got loose behind the bumper.....screw both of them half way on to it. (you can do it, just it a few tries)

pull the 2 screws firmly outwards until you hear 2 clicks (leftside and rightside clips that hold the bracket behind the bumper)

Unscrew the bolts.

Try to install the plugs, but this time, press on the 2 clips on the plugs and make them softer before installing them(DONT BREAK THEM, dont say I didnt warn ya) do it carefully.

now go try!

cheers,
eric

wow you guys did it the extremely hard way...i just took a bolt that happened to fit in the grooves and pulled the plugs into the front bumper and plugged the hole toward the middle of the car first because it pushes back farther, and then carefully plug in the other hole without pushing too hard and squeezing the tabs on the back of the plug together
hopefully this made sense to everyone. this process took me about 5 minutes, and 3 of which i was trying to find the right size bolt that would fit in the holes...i believe this way is a hell of a lot quicker than removing the bumper and all that
