Default Front Plates and Warnings

Two questions:

Just the other day, after driving my 02 for nearly 5 years with no front plate, a Texas DPS officer pulled me over and gave me grief about no front plate. He only gave me a written warning for it (along with a warning about the rear plate cover put on by the dealer that I'm too lazy to pull off).

1. What's the fine for something like that? I've search around the Tx DPS links but I cannot get a definite answer. Does the fine go up for subsequent tickets for no front plate?

2. Do cops keep a record of warnings? The warning says that it does not go into my driving record, but if you get pulled over in the future, will they be able to find out you've already been given a warning for this?

Just Curious

The fine is $100 in connecticut.. I have no idea how much it is in Texas.. you'd have better luck posting in a regional forum. https://www.s2ki.com/forums/index.php?c=117

in ca. just "repair" it and get it signed off. $10 for court fee and some police agencies have been charging a "documentation" fee varies on agency... even though they used to do it for free >=(

As stated before, fines are different in different states. For reference, it is $43 in New Jersey. Not too bad.

Warnings are similar all over the USA. The next time you get pulled over, the officer will know that you received a warning. It comes up on their computers.

What Shamoo said:

If it was a written warning it has been documented.

One of my friends from Missouri (required front plates) has good friends at his Honda dealership. His Honda pals update his purchase order slip he carries in his S2000 every time he is in for an oil change. The PO says that the mounting bracket for the front of the S2000 is on backorder and is expected to be available in three months.

If he gets pulled over, he never gets a ticket for not having his plate mounted.

Its funny you bring that up as thats my exact excuse for not having one Officer, my salesman informed me a few days ago that the plate holder should be arriving within the next few days
