This board is supposed to be informative and its times like
these that give this board a bad name. There is no need for
name calling on both sides. questions can be asked in a polite
manner whether you agree with a post or not. Why attack something
without full knowledge.

I am not a mechanic and do not know the first thing
about our brakes or brakes on racing cars. Just because
these rotors are not on racing cars , doesn't mean they are not
good or don't work. There is a first for everything, thats what inventors are for.
Again, I do not even know James but lets keep an open mind until we have facts that
they don't work properly.

It looks fairly easy to see that these "wave rotors"
have less surface area (in contact with pad) than the
ones you took off. Am I wrong here ??
If this is the case, I'ld be willing to bet these "wave rotors"
will decrease brake effectiveness.

UMP,

Y'know buddy, people might actually respect your opinions if you presented them like a civilized human being. As you can see, I've edited out all your unnecessary crap.

DO NOT DO IT AGAIN!!!

My particular contention is that a wave-styled rotor is a bid odd, too. But it clearly states that these are NOT heat-tolerant for racing, so those who install them I'm sure do so at their own risk. That aside, it's a cosmetic or slight-performance mod that's up to the buyer.

Use some judgment. Do NOT come into this house and make this place look bad.

One more thing: I do appreciate your apology, but if you want to be truly useful, edit the crap out of your own posts so we don't have to waste our time.

Actually, they are on quite a few race cars - that's what they were made for. And the man who designed and makes them, earns his living buliding brake systems for racing cars. And these kinds of rotors are common on motorcycles.

The idea that these are not safe is a figment of a limited imagination. If we discredited everything we never saw before, just because we never saw them before, innovation would die.

Ump, before speaking your mind and throwing out uneducated opinions maybe you could have done some research.

You obviously know how to use the internet so how hard would it be to go to Yahoo and type Wave Rotors in the search box? You'd be amazed at the amount of information that comes up proving how wrong you are.

Rick, just out of curiosity do those rotors pose a problem when they need to be machine turned?

I don't think so, but maybe Brad Wight can confirm. Brad?
