Fuel Injector Cleaner, who's using?
Just wondering who here is using Fuel Injector Cleaner and if so which one. I have 9,500 miles on my MY02 and I have never used any of these products.

i haven't used any fuel injector cleaners so far on my s2k(its still brand new) but on my accord i use a can BG 44k at every oil change. BG 44k is a very good product and is rated highly by shows like Gaus' Garage, etc....

My independent Honda mechanic swears by Chevron Techron fuel injector cleaner. It's $4-$6 at Pep Boys depending on whether it's on sale. I have been putting in my Hondas for many years about every 15,000 miles. So far, none of the cars has needed any attention to their fuel injectors.
I don't know if you need anything if you always run Mobil or Chevron gas, but it may help.

i always add it to all of my cars when i do oil change p/m.
a good friend has a benz and complains that the f/i cleaner ate up his injectors and plastic parts in his fuel pump.
sounds to me that his mechanic is feeding him a line of poop.
anybody know of any truth to that?
i know that alcohol is damaging to some fuel system components and should sometimes be avoided. Mercury Marine states not to use any products in their marinized gm engines.

Techron is a great additive to put in every oil change. I have used it for years and I can attest to it working in a variety of sports cars from the most exotic to a lawn mower. Once every oil change will suffice.

After running a tankful of Shell (which I normally don't use), I really needed to get some injector cleaner in the tank to get my car running back to normal. My car did not like the Shell at all. It really sounded bad when I would hit VTEC, as if the engine was pinging badly.
I tried a new injector cleaner called SeaFoam. It was very good and put my car back to normal in short order. The only downside of this was the price, which was about twice the cost of the Chemtool B12.
I don't know about anyone else, but when I put the fuel injector cleaner in the gas tank, my engine really idles smoothly and runs noticeably better.
