Fuel Injector Cleaner, who's using?
Hi All:
Honda does not recommend any fuel injector cleaners to be put into the fuel tank. Some of them may have solvents that may soften seals, o-rings, etc.
If the injectors need cleaning they should be removed from the car and put in an injector cleaner, or just replaced.
There are so many cleaners in your local parts store that there is no way to know what harmful chemicals are going into your tank, fuel lines, fuel pump, injectors, combustion chamber, exhaust, catalytic converter, O2 sensor, etc.
Be careful, you may be doing more harm than good.

I use a 12oz. bottle of Techron concentrate about every 3-5 fill ups. Techron, while potent, is not one that will degrade the nylon sock.

Well from the input gathered here, seems lke you're better off using nothing.

Personally, I would rather have a chemical clean my injectors so I don't have to physically remove them from the car.
Red Line, Pennzoil Regane, and Techron have no chemicals in my opinion that will eat away at anything - I have full disclosure from all 3 as to what is in their products.
I do not recommend BG's 44K - it's cleaning agents are too strong, and I have seen some older style fuel injectors where the solvents de-laminated the covering of the coils.
I will be interested to see what Honda's TSB says, if it ever emerges. I use Red Line SI-2 (the diluted stuff) and have done so in all e of my Acura TLs, the NSX, and will do the same in my S2000.
I think Honda realizes that some people cannot read directions and titrate dosages, so they may say a blanket condemnation is good policy - besides, after the 3Y/36K is when calve and CC depoists start to become an issue, so what do they care?
