GAS DOOR?!
Sure, here is how it works on an AP1. Sit in the driver's seat of your car. Open the verticle bin door just to your right on the rear of the "console stack." Then feel around on the bottom of the lip above this bin. (Aviod the button that says "trunk" as all that does is open the trunk.) If you feel around on the bottom of this lip, toward the pasenger side, you will find a rectangular "button." It you press it upward, you can raise the pannel to which the plastic windscreen is attached. This opens a compartment that has its opening facing upward. That's the "secret compartment." I find it most useful for storing CDs and insurance verification forms.
Incubus:
I'll be damned! It is possible to pull the gas lid button with the door closed. I just tried it on my AP1, and did it. Now if we can just get one of those girls on the "Hotties" forum to rub out the sprain in my arm (and perhaps other things as well) all will be fine!

lol, my saleseman showed me where the gas tank knob is but i didnt bother paying attention lol. i got the gas station was like damn it where was it again. took me a couple of minutes to find it
Well, I think we'll all admit that the gas lid button and the "secret compartment" are not very "ergonomically correct" but in a roadster, what is? My S 2000 is my sports car. My sedan is a Mercedes that I've had for over three years. There is still electronic stuff on that car that I haven't figured out yet. I just set everything on the most simple mode possible and drive it. And on it, the gas lid is even on the WRONG SIDE of the car! I pull in to the gas pump wrong about half of the time with it.
I don't know what ever happened to the art of making a car "intuitive" to the driver, but it got lost someplace. Have you ever heard about BMW's iDrive? I know folks who bought these, and took them back saying "I can't drive this!" At least, our problems with S 2000s aren't that bad.
