that sounds weird...

also i don't believe ppl saying they get high 20's in the city. must live in a city that's all highway cause you will never get that high driving in nyc. 16 sounds way too low though...maybe try going on a all highway trip and see what you get...if you still get high 20's all highway then i dono ur car is really weird then

maybe you have a gas leak somewhere? it could happen. It happened in one of my old cars. Smell around the car before starting to see if any gas leaks can be detected. sniff in the engine bay. maybe a gasket somewhere has failed. there;s a reason why your gas mileage dropped drastically. also.. maybe you seriously miscalculated your mileage the first time around.

Something definitely wrong. Might be worth taking it to a tuner for a dyno pull with AFR to see if the car is running that rich.

Could have a sticking injector or bad O2 sensor giving the ecu bad data.

my tank will sometimes allow 2 gals after the pump shuts off.sometimes it doesnt allow anything into the tank.maybe sence its summer yor tank may not fill up all the time.try to put some more gas in it after the pump shuts off.you may be getting more mileage then you think..

I noticed a big difference in my car's mpg this year too. The problem here is the shit quality gas we have in Alaska. Sucks considering the pipeline is in front of my house. The highest octane we have is 90.

Man thats crazy i average 28mpg city and thats me pushing the car hard when not i get more around 30-31mpg. Hmm not sure what could be ur problem at all is there alot of hills in the area?? Have u changed the oil on it?? There has to be some thing that is different about the car lower psi in the tires. Those are a few things that could hurt mpg and mods done to the car???
Hmmm. I'm calling bullsh!t. Do you actually have an S2000? My 08 has about 12K miles on it. My daily commute is 35 miles of absolutely horrible traffic. It can take 1.5 hours. Under those conditions, the car has always returned between 20 and 23 mpg. It has never dipped below 20 and occasionally may reach 23.5 if traffic is relatively good that week. My best mileage with a mix of commuting and lots of steady speed highway miles is 25. While I believe the car could get high 20's in pure highway driving, there is no way you're getting 30-31 in city driving or even 28. Buy a calculator and learn how to fill the tank of your imaginary S2000.

BTW, a friend of mine has an 02 with 110K on it and he gets pretty much the same mileage that I do.

08 yellowcr, can you describe your tire pressure and driving habits. I have a 08 base, and i get approx 20 with a mix of city and highway, prolly 60/40 highway city, and i drive pretty gently, faster on the highway, and some higher revs occasionally in the city. I'd like to get that mileage.
Easy, switch the display over to KM and do the math. Instant 62% bump in "mileage". I think he's driving a fantasy S2000 or just really bad at math.

The car is sad cause you don't push it hard enough.

But to answer your question I have no idea what it could be.
