I've been averaging 23-24 with short commutes, and some stop/go traffic.

But then with the bigger engine, and being new, it's probably a little different than the early cars.

Mileage has increased about 2mpg since I bought it though, over about 3k miles.

woohooo... 27mpg. i didnt vtec for a whole tank and only drove on the freeways for 90% of that tank.

it makes a big difference not vtecing and driving like a granny. it saves me money. thats 3-6 extra mpg above my normal mpg and it also saves me from getting speeding tickets and insurance spikes.

Nice idea there....

Just run the car out of gas...

Run the fuel pump without any cooling or lubricating fluid (fuel)... This will cause premature wear on the pump. If you were to do this on an older car, you're likely to kill the pump entirely. This is a stupid idea, and I don't EVER recommend anybody do this.

For some reason, I only get 22 - 24mpg with half city and half highway driving.

I usually get around 235 miles on a tank. I try to never take it below 1 bar. The most I've ever got out of a full tank was 336 miles. There was no gas close to where I was on I-5 so I drove/coasted slowly. I was pretty scared that I was going to go empty and screw up my fuel pump and injectors.

Looks like afetsman has pushed the gas tank the most so far. Anyone use more than 12 gallons yet? How many miles did you have? What kind of driving?

I get really nervous when my gas light pops up and it's on the last bar. I am always thinking I'm going to run out, but when I go to fill up, I only filled in 10.5 gallons.

Is there some kind of reserve tank.

I ran my tank down really low once.

I was stressed for a few days, while driving to work i noticed, the gas pump tank light was on... NO bars were on... i new that toyota, and honda at least puts an extra gallon, so since I didn't have time to gas up...i went went to work about 5mi at that point... after work drove home forgot, all about the gas(approx 18mi drive)(had lots of stuff on my mined)... next day while on my way to work i noticed the pump light, but this time there was 3 light bars on!!! Is that some kind of reserve tank indicator, just a fluke, or did the gauge reset. after turning it off??? anyways I filled up when there were 2 bars and gas light on.

Have any of you experienced this reserve tank indicator...

By the way i put $24.25 dollars(i know coz that was the most i ever put, and its in order too 24, 25) in the tank that's about 12.1 gallons i think.
