There really is no reserve to speak of. The light is kinda flakey, hence the reason for this thread. Every car has its own uniquely behaving gauge (for some reason). What you probably did was park at an INCLINE. This just shifted the fuel around in the tank to where the float is for the indicator (just like my old Bug). Once the car is level, the gauge will go back down to show very, very little (usually).

There does seem to be some capacity left in the tank after the last illuminated fuel bar. The trick is to figure how how much.

 

I get over 30 mpg on the highway, and only 24-26 around town with frequent vtec. The car seems to get the best millage at 80 mph, or above.

 

I get between 20-23mpg with mixed city and hwy and the occasional trip to 9k.
At the track I get between 9-11mpg

 

i average aroun 24-25 MPG with mosly city driving and short distance driving.

 

I usually get about 24mpg, mainly city.

 

I get 18-20 mpg usually but I try to keep it in VTEC as much as possible! I don't do enough highway driving to see what that would be.

 

I average about 25mpg, for both city and freeway. On freeway alone, I usually get about 30 mpg.

I have driven for over 20 miles with NO bars left and upon filling up, still only put in 12.1 gallons. (267 miles) Go figure...there may be at least 40-50 mile range after the last bar goes out...

 

On the average, 260 miles per tank. I've taken her over 300 miles a few times. If you take it easy and not vtec too much, this thing drives like a Civic. On the track, VTECing most of the time..., she'll do only about 100 miles/tank though.
