Please no flames - I tried the search but it wasn't working just now........

My S2K is now 2 years old and has (only) 5,000 miles. I am getting a progressively more frequent and worsening gear grind when accessing second from fourth (or third) when braking / slowing (obviously) and preparing to accelerate away again (as in going round a tight corner). My foot is flat to the floor on the clutch. In fact, sometimes I can "hear it coming" when I swing the gear lever over in neutral - there's a "skating" noise when the lever gets between one and two. If I try to put it in gear I will get the grind. Quite often (as in tonight I don't get the warning - just an horrific noise of #2 getting filed down to size! I practically ran to a stop before the lever would go in (I stress again - clutch flat to the floor).

I have had the 1-2 grind warranty fix done. This happens particularly when the car is hot, and after a litlle "spirited driving" (nothing looney - just a few ventures in VTEC land).

Is this a clutch thing or something else? Is it expensive? Is it warranty, or am I liable? Any experiences out there? I am not an overly aggressive driver.

I'll ask a dealer of course, but research is everything!

We should write and sign a big big big letter to HONDA to tell them our dissatifaction about this gear box.....It's my fourth HONDA and i have never had problems with any transmission
in these car.
It's very frustrating to pay 50,000 $ ( canadian ) for a car that you suppose to be as reliable as other HONDA product !!! And finding that it's full of problems.
How much are we on this board ?? We should post a poll and verify how much owner have this problem and see if it's just a few of us that have to deal with this !!
Somebody know how to post a poll ???
