Gear Lock-Out and Throttle Vibration
I recently purchased a 2001 S2000 this summer. I am not sure what I did (I probably stripped the gear doing some spirited driving). But for the past 4 or 5 days, the car hasn't allowed me to access 6th gear. I don't have an owner's manual or trouble shooting guide and wondered if there is anything I can do to get the car to let me back in to 6th gear. It is really frustrating. Plus, gas mileage isn't as good with cruise set in 5th instead of 6th.
Also, I am not sure if this is common for all S2ks or just mine. After I reach a cruising speed and let off the accelerator, there is an annoying vibration (from the throttle maybe). This occurs even when cruise control is activated (around 35-50 mph I notice). But if I step on the accelerator, it goes away. Unfortunately, I do not know a lot about cars, especially this one. I just know that I love this car. Any information would be much appreciated. Thanks

Sounds like the vibration might be the standard clutch buzz. Mine tends to get a little worse after some spirited driving, then lets up again after the car cools down. I'm afraid I can't really offer any insight into the gear lockout issue.
Yeah, the vibration sounds like the clutch buzz, which Honda is now calling typical on all S2000s. The lockout sounds like it could be a problem with the reverse lockout mechanism maybe. If you are still under warranty I would just take it to the dealer and I'd expect they would fix it for free. Good luck!
