Which gears is better?
i have a question on which gears will give the most gain.
4.55? 4.77? 4.57r? or 4.56r?
I dont do a lot of highway driving in my S as it's a weekend car but when i do, i drive quite far or say 20+ miles away from home.
and how does gear affect highway driving?
sorry for asking a noobie question.
Thanks

I have 4.56 and i like them alot over stock, passing on the freeway alot easier, 4.77's are ALOT MORE FUN than 4.56 gears but they arent fun when commuting. 4.56 is the best OVERALL option.

It all depends on what kinda driving you do. If you do alot of Road Racing events, Time Attack, and Open Road courses I would run a 4.30 or 4.40 from J's. if you want a autox gear then I would run a 4.77 . J's gears are treated so if you get anything else it wouldnt hurt to have them Cryo treated. I also agree that the 4.57 is the best overall gear if you just want a gear that is friendly all the way around. I plan on swaping out my Ap1 tranny with a Ap2 tranny. So with a shorter 1st-4th that will go good with the 4.3FD that I will be running. So Road Racing gets a 4.3-4.4 and Autox gets the 4.77-5.10 and for using it for daily driving I would use the 4.57.
