did you miss that part
If you have the knowledge or the desire to learn on how to do something on your car, then turn the wrench. What year is this? Broken nail or not. A good mechanic is a good mechanic, or at least someone that can follow instructions -- bottom line. Some women have cars that are hot and sound great. They have an eye and ear for something that's makes you feel good...for instance, like the S2000. If they spin their own wrenches, that shouldn't make a difference.
You mean to tell me that there haven't been want-to-be males that haven't mess it up? Just look at the threads "OOPS, OUCH and I DID IT NOW." You just have to know when you might be getting in over your head. If you do, then farm it out, enlist someone's help or wait for a tech day.
I try to work on my own "S" because here in VT it seems like they just don't care, or it's just a car (they are driving beaters, trucks or it's just a J.O.B.) I think that a woman working on my car would have more finesse than muscle and would think things through before smacking it with a BFH. I also think that there are a lot of owners out there that feel the same way, male or female and that's why we try to do what work we can, on our own cars.
There is a lot of help on S2KI and excellent members to help you out with problems that us, less experienced, do-it-yourself-ers run into or would like to tackle... Just my .02
BTW, I like it when my wife want s to know more about the car and I have shown her some How-to's ...Comptech Exaust, oil and diff changes and she can set up a torque meter ... I'm keeping her, so don't ask.

Hmmmm. If you're going to "tune up" your car, make sure you know a little bit about the engine, and what you are doing.
I put my own intake on, my own strut bar, i tried to put my rims on but i can't lift heavy stuff... my CF hood i held up while my friend screwed it in..
shops around here =
thinking about a tune up, i drove it too hard this weekend at the AL. meet (Cheeha), I think i gotta change my oil some time.
