Torquing spark plugs into an aluminum head is not something you want to mess with. Do you have a good "mechanic's feel" for torquing? If not, then get a torque wrench. My "mechanics feel" on the spark plug was about 20-22 ft.#s. (I was curious one day. )

Last year I went to my dealer where I bought the car only a couple of months earlier, I asked them if they would check out my plugs to see if any had loosened. Not only did they refuse, their "best" mechanic came out to tell me in person that it was "flat out impossible" for the spark plugs to come loose in an S2000. A week later I got the card in the mail to make an appointment to have them changed

Check the spark plug gap also.....many spark plugs that come pre gapped are gapped incorrectly .38 isspec but i believe to small....i'd go to the bigger gap end of the mfgr. spectrum .43 works great When i had denso's they came from the mfgr with a .30 gap.

After reading this thread I decided to take a look.
What kind of bolts are holding the spark plug cover on ?
Are they allen style ? If so what size ? 7/32 is too large and 3/16 is just slightly too small.
Maybe I need to get metric allen ?

The metric allen wrench you need is 5 mm.

I got a full metric set of 3/8" bits for my torque wrench.

Hey ReedZ,

Just for clarity's sake, did you get the "product campaign" letter from Honda early last fall? I read what you said about using the Iridiums, I'm just trying to figure out if Honda missed folks.

Best wishes.
