Sir you are an idiot
p..s, sorry don't mean to flame the flaming miatas. if Ford did not buy them out i might feel differently.
i have issues with Ford.
Hmm. My VW had a starter button, too.
Know why?
Cuz the start position on the ignition switch was broken.
Sorta a PITA.
Just my opinion
I'd definitely ditch the digital gauges long before I'd switch to a "normal" ignition though.

i'd take the manual operated top from the miata though....with the requisite price and weight drop of course.

..... last i checked the S2k was faster than a miata in any performance aspect in stock form.

Obviously, stock for stock, there is no performance comparison.

I am in the same boat. I could do without many of the power conveniences, and I wish it had the same great steering feedback of a Miata, but as I've gotten older I've been more willing to give up some sports car purity for modern comfort. Overall I am happy with my purchase of an '05 S2K. It's slower, it's not as pure, but it's what I was looking for this time around. I'm just afraid that one day I'll be saying the same thing as I move from an S2K to some awful family sedan.
I beat the snot out of my two previous Miatas for 100,000 miles each without a single breakdown from either, and they were putting down 200hp and 240hp to the wheels, respectively. I too hope to see the same reliability out of my S2K.

Woouldn't the stock S kill the stock miata in all respects? i could be wrong but it seems that way. kinda stupid saying its slower when your miata must have been modded.
i must me reading this wrong right? somebody?

I was referring to my case specifically where mine are far from stock, as mentioned in the second paragraph, whereas I intend to leave my S2K stock.
