The miata is also a chic car.

Power tops, power windows, power door locks, power mirrors, cruise control, ABS, A/C and so on are not to be found on a true sports car. I'm just getting older and I want some of those conveniences now, but I didn't want to end up in some boring slushbox. The S2K is the perfect "compromise" car for me at this point in my life.
dictionary.com
"A sports car is type of automobile designed for sporting performance. While opinions differ as to the exact definition, most sports cars have two seats and two doors, and are designed to excel at a combination of acceleration, top speed, braking, and maneuverability."

un fortunately theres no real mention that a sports car requires no ammenities.

PM me when you're in the Sacramento area and I'll give you a ride in my stock chic car, or better yet, bring your s2k and we'll go for a run in the twisties

You may want to reconsider that challenge.

There's a reason miata's are B-spec and S2k's had to be moved to A-spec. Ya think its cause they were out performing the other B-specs by too large a margin?

No, you're confusing what a sports car really is, and what popular conception of what one is due to decades of misuse as a sales and ego buzzword.

What are you talking about?
If it's SCCA autocross - what is Aspec and Bspec?
If it's SCCA autocross - most miatas are C stock?
If it's SCCA autocross - do you know that S2000s started in Aspec, uhm A Stock and were 'booted' to B stock before returning to A whatever this year (I'm taking evil liberties here
).
I know a few good Bspec (if you were referring to autocross) miata drivers who would hand many of the type of S2000 drivers who claim miatas are chick cars (read the type of S2000 driver you never see anywhere near a track or autocross) their @rses on a twisty road - or more appropriately - a track.
...damn, and here i was in self imposed exile...crawling back into my hole now.

at the national championships every year the S2000 owned the miata in B-stock when it was in B-stock. And since it did so well the last 2 years in B-stock, they moved it back to A-stock.
So either way, the S2k obviously does better in auto-x than the miata.

I meant chic car by aesthetics not by performance. I know the S2000 is basically the same concept (size\style) but just something about how a miata looks is girly, IMO.
