Got hit/dragged by a Tractor Trailer
My mom's Camry was hit in the same exact way on the driver side. The truck driver driver told the cops that my mom drove into the wheels of the truck and the cops believed him! The cop didn't even try talking to my mom and was joking with the driver. Couldn't believe it. Had to get a lawyer and sue. We won the case and even got some extra compensation. Hope everything works out.

I don't know dude. With the rocker bent you may be better off if they claim it totaled. I'd hate put it back on the road or sell it to someone that didn't know the history. This is not your typical car and should not be treated like one. The car deserves respect especially when you consider the way some of them are used and the expected traits.
How are your britches?

As much as I love this car, people have to realize its far from a ferrari. Parts are not that expensive, every dealer has atleast 4 on lot, lab is somewhat cheap, etc. Get it fixed, move on.
First, thank God you're OK. As everyone has noted, you could have been seriously injured or worse. Second, hire an attorney and investigate the truck driver's driving history. He may be a repeat offender which would make the trucking firm more receptive to a settlement. Ask also to get a copy of his log. They need to keep records about the number of hours driven per day and so forth. Who knows, maybe he'd been awake and on the road for the past 24 hours prior to the accident?! Ask to have the truck driver's hearing tested - seriously. If your horn wasn't heard (and the noise of a truck @ 2 mph isn't that great), then he may be hearing impaired. No slam against those that are, but it's probably a job requirement for most inter-state truckers. Finally, get your car inspected by an experienced body shop and one familiar with sports cars. Get all OEM parts and demand that it be as good as it was before the accident. Good luck bro!
Dude, that blows. I have a CDL and am an employee of Conway Truckload. Now I see why our hiring process is so stringent. So people like this DON'T work for my company. There is no excuse for that period other than lack of patience.
Even if you were over the line, it's HIS job and HIS responsibility to know he can't make that turn without hitting you and to just wait until the next cycle of lights so you will no longer be there.
I hope everything gets taken care of.

Anyway, I got the police report today, and obviously it's in my favor. My insurance company (State Farm) has initiated the claim process with his insurance company for me, but his insurance company can't do anything til they talk to him, which they haven't yet. His insurance company is Continental Casualty. State Farm already told me that if there were any issues between his insurance company and me, to just give them a call back and I could do the entire claim through State Farm. We'll see how easy they are to work with first though.
I just want my freakin' S2K back to enjoy this beautiful Georgia weather we've been having. I'm afraid by the time I get it back it will be 100 degree weather and too hot to put the top down.

Yeah, I thought about doing it all through State Farm, but I don't know how they would be with me getting compensation for "inconvenience", time off from work having to get things taken care of, diminished value, etc...
I just took it for a spin, and it just seems weird. It actually slows down coasting down hills in neutral, and kind of smelled funny towards the rear when I pulled it in the garage. I also noticed that because he dragged me straight into a parking lot that I might have actually had a problem going in on an angle, it scraped the exhaust tips up pretty good as well as the bottom of the front bumper.
And.... the side door sill is all deformed as well.

All this stuff varies state-by-state, but in my state you don't generally get any compensation for "inconvenience", etc. And "diminished value" is not generally allowed either.
