Default Got laid off today...

Well, Walmart laid me off today, they laid off all their minors b/c walmart wasnt making enough money (they figured saving $800 a week from payroll would save them??). Ah well, i guess any money that i was going to spend for mods will now just go to saving my car. Sucks being 17...gota quit guitar lessons too to save that $70 a month...and its snowing too so i cant drive around and make myself feel better...whats that song called again, oh yeah, fuel - bad day

NO Way. That Walmart needs more workers if anything....20 checkout lines and maybe three are open. I never go there because it takes 30 minutes to check out. Sorry to hear your misfortune. Although 17 and having a s2000 won't get ya to many violins in this forum.

Speaking of saving $800/week, that adds up quick. Papa Johns (my work place) cut back a quarter they paid us per order we took out because of the sluggish economy, and that amounts to $900/year for me. There's 60 stores in Houston alone, so multiply $900 X 60 X 12 (average # drivers per store), that roughly equals $650,000. Now multiply that by the number of cities that Papa Johns is located. All that because of a quarter! I would think $800/week amounts to even higher numbers.

Wow, Walmart is paying 700/wk = 3200/month! That's alot of dough for a cashier. Are you a manager?

I brush the snow off my covered S every couple of hours. The resulting snow surrounding the car is starting to get as high as the hood. I have no idea how I'm going to get to work tomorrow.

thoe, i dont think its all the walmarts, in fact, im going to apply to the one in mount olive soon b/c i think they might have an opening...it really doesnt make sense to me b/c with the number of cashiers they had, they barely made it through, i didnt bother finishing off my shift tonight and their lines were piling up, even the csms (ppl in red vests not blue) had to get on register...as i was talkin to one of my coworkers some lady came up and was like can you open up another register? i got a good chuckle out of that....S2020, it wasnt 700/wk per employee, i only made $200 a week, and 4 of us minors got laid off...
