I am staying clear of this one. Good luck in court. You are going to need it with that argument.

What would've been so bad about getting all the violations? Aside from the turn ticket which you got anyways, they're fix it tickets.. $10 apiece...

Front license plate :: Zip tie it on, get it signed off, tear off- repeat as necessary.
Front windows too dark :: Remove tint at your leisure, sign off, get it retinted.
Etc..

As far as it making a cops job easier, to some extent I agree- but in California you can have the three rear windows spray painted black if you want. So anytime a cop pulls over a sedan they're faced with that. Also some states allow much darker tint on the front windows, their troopers still manage to show up everyday.

I hope I get one of these guys...

"You have a supercharger?"
"Uh. Yeah, take a look at the BIG CARB exempt #"

IIRC Vortech and Comptech are both CARB exempt.

[QUOTE=CrazyPhuD,May 25 2006, 02:03 AM] Hate to burst everyone's buble here...but the cop wasn't being a dick....if the cop wanted to be a dick he wouldn't have asked....he would have just written you four tickets and told you to have a nice day.

FYI for next time....if you can take off your tint job on the spot, without the proper tools and lubes, its a crappy tint job.

Please don't post information if you have no idea what you are talking about. Both the Comptech and Vortech kits are 100% CARB legal.

As for people complaining about the tint thing...sorry but you'll get little sympathy here. First is was illegal, the cop said you can romve it or I'll write you up for it. I'll tell you right now...the reason the cop was harder on you than he might otherwise have been was because of the tint. Tinting your car is probably the dumbest thing you can do with respect to police attention. Cops HATE tint and I can't blame them. It makes thier job significantly more dangerous, because they can't see what you are doing in the car. For all they know you could be pointing a gun at them. It adds unneeded stress and danger into their job. I'd be willing to be there is a good chance the cop would have let you off with a warning if you didn't have the tint.

as for the ticket for an illegal turn, your only hope is that the officer doesn't respond. If the officer does respond then you will lose Doesn't matter how fast you were going around the corner, you didn't use your signal and that puts you in violation. If the cop responds it's his word against yours and considering that he was behind you and it was at night(where a flashing signal is harder to miss than during the day), the judge will take the word of the officer over yours. If the officer responds you have no case and you will lose.

Lose the tint next time and I bet you'll be treated differently.
Exactly!

It wasn't a "dick" move to make you remove the tint right then and there. He did cut you a break on that, because he certainly could have issued the ticket. Think about it this way. Say you were caught drinking in public (which is an offense here in VA if you're on public property). The cop could say "throw away that beer, and I'll cut you a break on the ticket" or he could just write you the ticket. I think most people would consider it a break if he just allowed you to toss the beer. Same sort of thing applies here.

Sounds to me that he could have written you up for much more than he did. I'd probably just take my lumps, pay the ticket, and call it a lesson learned.
