Got side swiped
What a way to start my holidays.......went to costco to get a few things and parked the car as remote as possible
Came back and noticed that my drivers side door got severely side swiped

Got the car a month ago and was treating it like a baby....almost had a tear in my eyes
Some jackass decided to run a cart between my car and an audi parked next to me......grrrrr.....not sure how much the damage is going to be
Does this mean that my car is going to have an accident show up in car fax?

If you pay out of pocket and dont deal with insurance. I believe it will still be a clean far fax. Just bring it to a good shop. Silver may be tough to match, but any good shop while it may be more $ can do a good job.
Good luck.
Good luck.
If you go through your insurance company then it will show up on Carfax, Autocheck, etc. as being involved in an incident.
I'm not sure if it's possible or not, but if you can get the camera recording of the parking lot showing who did the damage can't you go after them for hit and run?

I called the cops for the hit and run.....he mentioned that this was not the first time this happened. There were no cameras around the space I parked.
My deductible is $250 and I will most likely use my insurance....I will post pics tomorrow when there is daylight

Ask the shop and your insurance if it will show up as an accident claim on a carfax or other report. If it does, you need to start talking "diminished value" with your insurance co. Since the value of your car will drop from it being on the report.
if you claim your insurance then it s gonna show up on carfax.. need to see picture but if its not cost to much money to fix it then i ll definitely pay on my pocket

Sounds like minor damage take pictures. I bought a car with some minor repairs did not bother me in fact it was way cleaner than most of the s2000 I looked at. They replaced headlamp and fender. Another s I looked at was very clean and was my second choice I asked owner for vin # so I could run carfax report thats when he said it was rear ended and fixed. I checked the carfax on his car and nothing showed up at all. Both cars were way cleaner and better taken care of than five others that had no reports on carfax. I also looked at a car with salvage against it I would not buy one like this but the car looked to be in new condition by far the cleanest looking for the price.
All these cars were ap1's at 15k range in so cal. During summer.
Does not sound to me that you are going to have much loss in value. People buying these cars know what there worth and know its slim pickings. If they wanted a new car they could go buy a brz.
Get her fixed and dont worry.

1. I feel for you!
2. I parked my Corolla completely away from all cars at Aldis, and someone tore the back bumper skin half off.
3. They had to be backing up out of their space and didn't know anyone was in the opposite side. Unbelievable!
4. They wanted $800 to fix it; I have friend who owns a body shop, and he did it for $400, but it wasn't perfectly lined up if you look real close, but the car had some age on it, so no biggie.
5. When it was new, I parked it at King's Island in such a way so no one could access either side b/c of yellow lines, or a walkway. Someone, somehow, put a half-dollar size dent in the driver's side by bumping something very very hard against it. The car was new, and I was sick; I can't imagine how bad you felt.
6. I paid the dentless repair people $75 to fix it since it was new. The same thing happened in a supermarket parking lot years later, but since it was 9 yrs. old then, I had the luxury of just living with it.
7. In the first year of owning my 04 S, I was pulling into my garage (a very tight fit with 2 cars), and somehow I barely scraped my front bumper where it joins the front fender by being to close to the cabinet on the wall
, and there was a metal hinge that barely scraped it.
8. I was so mad at myself (since the car only had 9k miles on it at 6 years old, and was perfect and was my "ultimate" car) that I didn't even go and look at it that evening; I just went inside and pouted like a 9 yr. old.
9. I thought I'd wait until I had more scrapes on it before I dealt with it, but I don't even notice it anymore, and since I've had it going on 4 yrs. now, and it is a daily driver through the winter: I'm fine.
10. When I go to sell it, I'll just take off $500 in the negotiating.
