How many miles on the tires?

Sometimes the rear subframe gets pushed over, but if you have a decent shop it should be fine.

the car has around 20k miles at the moment. I don't drive very aggressive either. I've driven it in the rain several times before in the year and it had pretty good grip.

Wha?!!!!! You have 20k miles on stock rear tires?!!!!!!!!

If that's the case, no wonder you lost control.

If you take a picture, I'll bet the rears are totally worn flat on the inside tread.

the control arms are aluminum, so they bend easily. which is probably a good thing.
Since when?

They may bend easily I don't know but they are steel.

The control arms are steel and they are designed to bend pretty easily in a wreck to prevent subframe and frame damage.

sorry to hear about the accident, i had a similar experience in my s but wasn't as fortunate as you and hit the wall on the exit ramp i hydroplaned on. frame damage totaled mine.

i now realize how important good rear tire tread depth is on these cars. i had just gotten my ap1 a month or so before my accident and hadn't given a second thought to the ~25% tread depth..

If it was 20k on OEM tires, those tires are going to be nekkid.

fight that ticket. a good attorney might be able to dismiss the case. good to hear that you didn't get hurt.

Not always, depends how you drive the car. I had 15k on my original set of tires and they still looked new when I sold them.
