Boy, do I need to learn to drive! I pulled up next to an Integra yesterday. We took off from the light, and he kept up with me...and even passed me a bit!

I redlined it a few times during my shifts (glad the cutout worked), but didn't grind any gears. It's clear to me that I need to learn how to drive this car! Having the peek HP/torque at an RPM range that is close to redline is new to me!

Unrelated question: When I back in to my garage (at the top of a mild hill), I smell an oder. I suspect I'm slipping the clutch too much...hence the odor. I don't rev it up a lot, just enough to be able to get it up the hill. It smells like...uh...urine.

Anyway, I love the car. It's good to see so many others like theirs as well!

I own an integra type r and I've "beaten" s2ks ... but that's cause he didn't drop his clutch. ie. Start from a traffic light and I dropped mine at 3-4k and same for the stook (or less), and my nose was ahead. Not by much, but noticable. If you dropped the clutch at 6-8k and still lost to an integra ... hmmm ... that teg must have nitro or something

Sounds like a combo of not dropping the clutch (don't feather it at all - drop it) from 6.5k rpms. I tried a few times and was feathering the clutch which causes that stinky smell. I went out this weekend to a rarely used road and was able to drop 2 out of 3 tries. It's different than what you are probably used to.

From what I've read here, the 0-60 times differences between dropping and feathering are huge. < 6 seconds on a drop, 8+ on a feather.
