i've read about these nasty grinds and i also experience it at high rpm shifts (1st - 2nd). In the mean thime I am also looking forward to replacing my clutch for an aftermarket ones as the OEMs are not as strong. Will this actually reduce the grinds?

it seems your car might be still under warranty if it is an 02'....you can get those things fixed w/o having to pay a penny....
