My take on this is that he's just having fun spinning the tires in the wet. His concern is that he sometimes gets some wheel hop and he is concerned about that (as he should be).

[QUOTE=bcs,May 5 2008, 03:57 PM]Why do you feel the need to accelerate hard on the wet pavement?

i think you might have some lead stuck to your right foot. i'd remove that first, and see if it solves your problem. then you can try some of the other suggestions here which are less sarcastic.

altho i'll say, i've had spin, but never wheel hop in this car. that might actually be a problem.

It's an older car, and could very easily have worn out shocks, bad bushings, or other problems.

why the heck would be flooring it in wet conditions? That's the stupidest thing I have ever heard. You want to know if there is something you can do so you can floor a rear wheel drive car when its wet and not get wheel hop? Ha

Well, in order to eliminate wheel hop, we need to figure out what it is.

Rear wheel hop is where the suspension gets into a resonant situation and doesn

Obviously, most people here think they know more about me and my driving than they do. It's NOT like I always drive around full throttle everywhere in both dry and wet conditions. And yes, I know the S can be very hard to you if you're not aware of how it can behave. But sometimes I like to accelerate hard, even in the wet.

Well, atleast 3 or 4 of the 25 replies actually had something to say that that could help (except from being easy on the throttle). The shocks feel good in when driving, but I'll check them and also take a look if I can find some bushing that needs to be replaced.

Don't listen to these jackasses in here bro. Most of them don't know what they talking about. I on the other hand do. The reason you have wheel spins or wheel hops is not because of bald tires, wet road or anything like these guys are talking about. What you need to do is give it more throttle, a lot more. Kinda like when you at the track and you use the throttle to pull yourself out of the turn. SO MORE THROTTLE TO SPIN YOURSELF OUT of the wheel spins or hops. Ignorant kills!!!!
