Hard top
I plan on doing this as well once I get my Hardtop soon. But From what I understand, the soft top assembly weighs about 80 lbs. While the HT weighs 44 lbs. So you would be saving about 35-36 pounds. Not 71 lbs. Am I wrong?

* you can always put the softtop back it just takes time.
*i'm a top always up person, i bought the car not because it was a convertable.
*since i don't plan to sell my car anytime soon or top down anytime why not do this project? save you gas too! 70 lbs of load that u dont need everyday!
* you can still "drop the top" by taking the hardtop off, put the tonneau cover on or something
if you are a person like me, this is the right mod for you.

When I had my '03 Miata, the softop was completely removed when the hardtop was installed. However, in the Miata, there were no weight savings with the swap, but I did not want to add weight having both tops installed. And when I sold the car, the softop was re-installed and the new owner received both tops.
