I was thinking of getting a hard top for my S2000 since hardtopguy is offering a great price on spa yellows. My question is once the hard top is installed does that mean no more soft top? is it removed or stays in the car but is not able to be used? I was wondering that because the new strikers have to be installed. Please let me know guys.

There have been so many hardtop threads in the last week or two...

To answer your questions, the soft top stays put and can't be used (obviously) with the HT on. Once the HT is off the car, the softtop works normally.

No problem. Wasn't trying to sound rude, but I'm really surprised you couldn't find what you were looking for. This exact question comes up regularly.

 

stays in the car...it's just retracted. The hardtop covers the entire area where the soft top is retracted.

 

In DMCFAN's defense... the search engine here on S2Ki sucks! You type in HARD TOP INSTALL and it's pretty humorous as to what all pops up. Buried in the 4225 results there may or may not be an answer.
