I have a hardtop for my S2000.

It generally goes in in the winter and comes back off in the spring. I also put it on when I'm going out of town and the car can't come with me so that I don't have to worry about someone messing with the softtop when I'm not around.

And no, it does not require 2 people to put on and take off.

THIS.

Seriously, I love's me some top down time, and the wife is getting used to it slowly. (she still has issues with talking, then realizing the people next to us at the light can hear her, but it does make her quiet )

BUT, if you have to deal with the Texas heat (again, I am sure other locations are similar or hotter) in Business professional clothing, You put the top up. I have tried the "change clothes to drive" option, but it gets old after awhile.

I can deal with cold, I can deal with 90-100 heat, but when you get sunburned on your short (22 mile) commute home, it just does not end the day well. Swamp butt is also not cool. What would make it great in the extreme temps, is a seat cooler. I have been trying to find a universal type that I can put in the seat, and it actually cool the seat, not just blow air. I have not had much luck yet.

Personally the only times the top is down for me is late in the evening when it's warm, early before the sun is completely up, or when it's overcast. haha. I really hate the hot sun beating down on me.

Love having both. 97 degrees and swampy humid is NOT top-down weather for me. So my hardtop has been on most of summer here in Southeast Virginia.

I don't think they are required to keep a supply of optional accessories. Tops for the hardtop-only MY08 and MY09 CRs might be different.

Does anyone know how interchangeable the hardtops are? I put down a deposit on a MY09 CR but reconsidered because I need to be able to have the top down on a moment's notice - and have it along with me so I can put it down for marginal weather and put it up when I arrivve somewhere else. It seemed clear that adding a soft top into a MY09 would not be reasonably feasible.

Two tops would be OK for me (except for the weight and required storage) but if I have to choose, it will always be a rag top for convenience.

I had an old Corvette in college but I put both tops in it so I could choose. I rigged a pulley system so I could hoist the top and leave it suspended over the car in the garage when I wanted the rag top.

But, as I said, I've discovered that I'm a rag top guy.

So it goes back to the question of which hard tops fit on which model years. Anybody know?

The hardtop is worth it, the odds are your softop will tear sooner or later.
