The HT adds about 1.5% additional weight to the car. A typical fuel fill up will add 3.3%. Do you feel the difference after you fuel up? A typical passenger will add 5.7%. Do you feel the difference when you have a friend with you? So now ask yourself ................. would you feel the HT? Or even better ............... would you feel an increase of 1.5% of anything? An additional 3 HP? A reduction of 3 HP? A 1.5% change in gearing? If your girlfriend put on another 2 lbs, would you know?
If anything, a HT will provide the car with better aerodynamics and help you run at speed more efficiently.

If you remove all the softtop components and use only the hardtop your car will actually weight less. I'd personally never do this, but some people don't like the covertible.

I have always had the OEM hardtop on since I bought my car brand new from the dealership. I've never driven the car without the hardtop so I can't compare it weight wise.
I think XViper's weight analysis is enough to answer the question.
What I did want to add is that the hardtop driving is awesome. The hardtop connects to the body at four points and feels very solid. Visiblity out the rearveiw mirror is not blocked. The car feels more roomy inside (more headroom) because the hardtop curves in a slight bow shape higher than the softop. There is better sound proofing and the car looks and drives great.
Weight never crossed my mind as an issue for the hardtop and I can't imagine having my S2000 without the hardtop.
I have not tracked my car but have driven into VTEC several times. I like the insulated cabin created by the hardtop and the whine of the engine as the revs head to the stratosphere. If you are removing other things from your car to lighten it for the track, like the air conditioner, lighter wheels, lighter battery, spare tire, passenger seat and all the other things, then you probably don't want the hardtop. If you're not lightening up the car for the track then don't worry about the weight.
If you want a weight test, put about 45-50 lbs of something in the passenger seat, test drive it and then decide.

The only real issue with the weight of the HT isn't the weight itself, it's that it's above the center of gravity about as far from ideal as possible when it comes to unavoidably adding weight to the car.
When your girlfriend rides with you, it can even the weight distribution out some and it's sunk low in the center of the car. When you fill up your tank, it adds weight towards your lowere rear end and can give a tiny bit more planted feel. That being said, unless you are truly racing your car, none of this matters.
