hardtop for US
The tops are being manufactured by the same company that makes this carbon fiber top. Giampiero said some time ago that it would look similar to this one. This of course is the Z3 version.

What if you have two beefy guys -- say 200 lbs each -- and the hardtop? What is the wieght going to do to the car's handling and performance? The hardtop is actually adding weight to the car, because you don't remove the convertible top. I gbuess it doesn't matter in Japan, where the average weight of a person is much less than Westerns.
Just a thought about weight.

Of course the 40 lb. weight of the hardtop would have to be added to the equation, just the same as if you and a buddy go bowling and put your 16 lb. bowling balls, plus shoes and bag, in the trunk.
This would also apply to any additional "stuff" that you add to the car, like audio equipment, spoilers and aero kits, etc.
The effect on performance (acceleration) is obvious, the effect on handling, unknown.
