Qubert, How did you get your top so fast. Very curious for details. Thanks
My dealer wouldn't even quote me a delivery date.

So I bought mine from Jeff at Hardtopguy and I got it in less than a week after placing my order.

Great service and prices!

The softtop is just fine for winter, but you don't want to raise/lower it in temps below freezing (risking damage).

I went through a winter in my '01 with just the soft top, and the plastic window... and it was fine.

This time around I purchased a hardtop for my '04, but my primary reason was because I like the look. I'm keeping the hardtop on 365 days a year.

So let me see if I understand you right. You rarely drive your S in the winter, but you bought a hardtop for winter driving?
I did this also as it is also not my everyday car. I like the look of the H/T and the main thing I like is how much quieter it is with it on.

Wow what a contradiction.

You stated correctly that money is realtive but then contradicted yourself by saying you would have kicked yourself for not getting one with 2002 dollars.

Um, since its relative wouldnt the cost of the options be "relative" to the time? For instance would it cost the same RELATIVELY in 2014 as today? Cmon man, learn to think better or learn to type what you are thinking better. I think its the former.
Calm down pal..... This is a friendly post not a heated debate. What set you off?

To clarify, I don't think it's absurd that anyone would purchase a hardtop. I want a hardtop too. I just think it's interesting that someone would buy a hardtop for a car to use during the winter months when they really don't drive it at all during the winter months. It just seems like you wouldn't drive it enough to "enjoy" it or justify it's purchase, but maybe that's just me.

But I can respect the fact that you bought it because that's ultimately what you wanted and YOUR money.

I think one thing many people fail to realize is that a hardtop is, unlike most other upgrades/mods, highly remarketable. They tend to hold their value pretty well and are usually pretty easy to sell. Much better to sell them separately rather than with a car though if you want to get the most out of them.
