Default Hardtops

i've been thinking about getting a hardtop but have a few questions maybe someone could help me out with. what modifications are needed to install? (if any) and any recommendations on a company? also any complaints of the added weight?

Extra hardware is needed for rear mounting points, Honda parts, you install or the dealer, it is a pain, I say let the dealer do it because then if you are not happy with how the top fits, take it back and have them adjust it. If you do not have an '02 or '03 electrical work is needed to get power to the rear window defrost and a switch in the center console.

Company to install, I say the dealer, but then again, I have a great dealer!

Added weight, so what. I'm not one of those people who think saving a few pounds on weight is a big deal. I spend a lot of time at the track, and I know for a fact that your ability to push yourself to higher levels of risk are way more effective in lower lap times that a few extra pounds shaved off the car.

I think he was just being sarcastic to the one guy who replied at first.

dyoung333, just remember that in order to receive respect from others, you have to respect them, as well. Even if they are rude to you, getting sarcastic or snippy won't do anything but inflame the situation.

According to your sig, you have a 2002, so you won't have to worry about extra electrical work for the defroster. However, I've heard that you would need something called "Kit C" if you don't have Suzuka Blue or Sebring Silver. I'm not quite sure what this means, but it was mentioned on the group buy for hardtops in California. Good luck!

thanks for the info guys. i understand the fact that there is a plethora of information i could search for myself on the "information super highway" better known as the "internet" but isn't that the beauty of a site like this? with members who are willing to share their past experiences so others don't have to suffer the same pitfalls? so for those of you who understand the concept of this site and sites like this, thank you. and for honda606 and everyone else who respond with "SEARCH", why bother? why bother responding, why bother even becoming a member of such a site or forum?

Because people get sick of telling the same thing to 100 people. most of your ?s can be found quickly through a search. If not, feel free to post. Just dont get angry and sterotype s2kers because of one person telling you to "SEARCH"!

Wait... you know that there is a search that is strictly limited to this site only, right?

The search box is located at the top right hand corner under the picture of the silver S2000 with red seats.
