I disagree with the notion that you should rush to the dealer to have them install it. It will cost you about $300 if you go that route, and its a very easy install. It shouldn't take you more than an afternoon at most, and adjustment it pretty easy as well.
I uninstalled my HT from my first car in about 1.5 hours and put it on the new one in about 3 or 4 hours. The "electrical work" consists of plugging in a few connectors and such. You'll also learn a good bit about your car just from taking it apart and putting it back together.
Order the top from hardtopguy and install it yourself. It took me about 3 hours and was actually fun. As long as you can turn a wrench and screwdriver, anyone can do it. I saved about $600 on the top and labor compared to the local dealer prices.
I agree, the 2 to 4 hour time is about right to do it yourself. I mentioned the dealer because I frankly can't remember when I had something like 4 hours of free time, and if I did, I would rather go driving.

oh man.. I want a hardtop so much. If it was more like 1500 bucks, it'd be more of a feasible option.
and I also have a question. When the hardtop goes in, the ragtop just stays in the down position and the hardtop fits over everything? I haven't seen a s2k hardtop in person EVER. This is will be a truly unique mod.
Yes, when the HT is on, the soft-top is completely lowered. The HT has 2 small metal extensions that help to hold the top down also and just fits over the top of everything.
Not only does the HT look cool, it totally changes the lines of the car. I swear everytime my HT is on, it looks like the hood is longer. The other cool thing is there is more head room inside with the HT on for things like a helmet.
