I really dont think so. Honda has the ability to make more power from it. I would hope after 8 years teh same motor has no more potential???

They very well could port the head out and raise compression a lil bit and get some more power, at least 10 more hp without destroying reliability. Or do something... I dunno but I would never buy a NEW s2k as I dont think they are worth it anyways so I guess I am different then most. The car used to be a lot of car for the money but has not really improved since 1999 and every other car out here has. I mean for the same price an STI or EVO can take an S2000 in almost every aspect and are all around tougher cars. The s2k has a very weak drivetrain and could use many upgrades, Honda either needs to drop the s2k line or up the ante. It is falling behind compared to most other cars

sounds like a good review to me, the CR is a joke. Honda really needs to up the HP of the car. Yes back in 99 240hp was something but comeone the ****ing civic has almost as much power as teh s2k now. But whats the point in complaining, Honda has made the S2k into a joke, there are several cars that can wax its ass in almost every comparison for the same or slightly more money. Sure Honda wants to keep the "sporty" spirit of the car but come one now, since when does "sporty" mean keeping the car almost the same for almost 10 years now
For an S2K owner you are pretty harsh. Please tell me what else in the S2K's class is a better car?

Solstice/Sky?(close performancewise with the 2.0T but the convertible top is a joke)

MX-5?(not really in the same class)

Z4i?(and much more $$$)

350Z roadster(a lot more $$$)

See, there really isn't anything out there. The numbers the S2K puts up are still very good. 1.0 on the skidpad, 0-60 in 5.7s. Also, when you consider how big the discounts are on the S2K, it makes it an even better deal.

I think many on this board get sucked into the 350z's power increases but the 3.5 had a lot of room for improvement and the Z sells a lot better than the S2K so Nissan puts more $$ into it. Do you really think adding 10-20hp to the S2K would increase sales significantly? I sure don't.

237hp is a bit more than the 197hp in the Civic Si as well....

im a fan of the S2K but tell me where and when it get 1.0 on the skid pad?

Magazine racing is such BS. You can get a lot more than 1G on the skidpad with an S2000 if you have wide, sticky rubber installed. In the same light, you can slap on some cheap all-seasons and get .6 or .7 if you want.

why would you say "if you put...." when we are talking about a stock car?
