Has anyone driven listening to headphone music?
I'm using the rear-speaker connector (off the HU on the AP2 -- there are lots of discussions on the Electronics forum) to drive a set of IPod-like ear buds. When you want them, you use the fader to send the sound to them (they're Rear), and you can balance the speakers and the ear buds to driving conditions and music.
And, I'm sorry, but all that crap about illegal and immoral and so on is just stupid. In some cities, cell phones are illegal UNLESS USED WITH HANDS FREE SETUPS, which, in many cases, are headsets of some kind. HPH

Seems to me that deaf people are allowed to drive for two reasons,
1) they're probably a LITTLE more used not hearing, therefore would perhaps pay more attention to sight etc.?
2) Music does change and vary, and you'd be singing along, cd would skip, or some such and cause extra distractions.
And as jlstyle82 style mentioned the stock system is reasonably good, long as you don't have a i/e to drone it out at speed

1.Deaf people are allowed to drive because they can't take their headphones off, you can.
2. A pair of good 2 way speakers behind your seats is a much safer solution, plus people wont take videos of you while driving and post them on stupid-videos.com

Deaf people can drive probably because you can't discriminate against them. Just like elderly, physically handicapped, people with seizures, etc.
As for seizures? I believe, at least here in Texas, if a person has a history of seizures, epilepsy for example, they are not allowed to drive until they can demonstrate that their condition is stable and controlled through medication, etc.
Drive Safe,
