Has anyone here NOT raced?
I've had my S for just over a year, and I have yet to have a street encounter. It's not important to prove anything since I'll probably miss a gear and look like a total ass anyways.
I had a 350Z tailgate me on the freeway this morning, but decided I was going 85 in a 65 which was fast enough for me. He comes up next to me, gives me a look like, "My car is better", then floors it. I thought, have fun with the cops up ahead, but of course, there weren't any.

You can add me to the "never raced" column. Had my S coming up on three years now. Every time I even feel the vaguest desire to challenge someone (or be challenged) I just think of all the idiots I see in the Street Encounters forum and I remember how I so much don't want to be like them. And my desire to race suddenly vanishes, how 'bout that.
Yes - I can say that I have not raced anyone - although, like you, I've had plenty of cars on the highway slow down for me to catch up and then they take off, expecting me to go. My main reason for not racing is that I am still getting used to the car (only had her for 1 month and 6 days so far) and don't feel the need to beat on it. She's my baby & I don't need to race some a-hole to know what a great car she is.

I really like the threads about "Stupid Piggy" when people get caught doing stupid things, then blame other people for their dumbass actions.
Though my dumbass action was going 135 in a 65 with the top down shortly after getting the car.

No street racing here either, though I'll admit to "spirited" sprints through country roads leading/following other S2000s, Z3s, Boxsters, Miatas, Corvettes, and the like. As JohnnyCat says, "Discretion is the better part of valor". I'll exercise the car, but I'll always remind myself that these are public roads with many different types of drivers, pedistrians, or other "obstacles". Racing belongs on closed courses and you are only inviting disaster when doing an F&F.

Add me to the list. Never had the desire really, or the opportunity. I'd rather get onto an auto-x course first and learn how to handle the car at speed better before making a really dumb move that might hurt someone.
Never here either...just spirited driving from stoplights once in a while stretching the legs out of my S, but never race in the highways or anything like that. Where I live...it's dangerous just to drive around.
