Has anyone in the UK had the grind fixed?

Just a quick question to the UK owners. Has anyone had their grinding gearbox fixed yet?

I was just wondering tonight whether my gears were being a little awkward and notchy.
Would changing gearbox fluids improve this? Is this expensive? Am I on a different planet?

Thanks,
Simon.

The grind is truly a failure of the gears to synchronize before being forced together. It sounds like you are not using the clutch rather than

I too have the same problem with the gearbox making a grinding noise. I took it back to the dealer and they replaced the clutch with a modified version. This did not fix the problem so I complained again, this time Honda UK have addmittied that there is a problem with the internals of the box and Honda Japan are building/redesigning a new gearbox which will be availaible early next year. I assume that Honda UK will be recalling all cars that have the problem.

Currenly Honda UK have my car and are replacing the gearbox and trying to fix the problem. I'll be suprised it they do !!

I've driven four s2000 now and they all have the same problem. It's NOT down to driver error, it's a design fault with the box and I'm suprised that no one else have said anything. How about you guys in the US ?

Hope this clears a few things up.

Yes, I had my box fixed because of the grind. This was happening when shifting to second quickly at high revs (eg. when accelerating away hard from lights). I mentioned it to the dealer during my first service and the replaced the box and clutch with no questions asked.

The gearbox sounds better and I haven't missed shifts since. I think the notchiness is inherent in the triple cone design. It's worse in this weather, because the gearbox takes longer to warm up.

Hi

I have also had problems with 2nd Gear - the gear box hasn't been the dream all the mag reviews talked about. I have spoken to my dealer a couple of times but he says this is normal. Who is your dealer?
