I got keyed pretty badly here in CA. I think maybe I should have gotten the white instead of the flashier red. Stuff is going to happen. If you are a little careful (i.e. car cover) you should be okay. Godd luck.

All the keying/hating I have heard of on the Honda makes has been in CA and a little in NJ, I am in southern VA. So hopefully it will be better here.

I have had mine over two years and driven it over 24k miles in California, and have not had any issues yet (knock on wood). I think it really depends upon where you park, how much attention you draw to the car, and sometimes how you are driving/behaving just prior to parking. ie- Peeling into a parking lot with stereo blaring will certaining increase your chances of being sujected to vandalism.

to answer your question, its being at the wrong place at the wrong time. there is no way to really prevent someone from messing up your car. you just have to live with the fact that there are haters out there and hopefully your car isnt on their radar screen when they decide to mess someones car up because they are jeolous. but like people say, what goes around comes around.

I believe the black color is the most stealthy and less likely to draw unwanted attention, at least so far
