Just curious how many of you have misshifted your S2000. It happened to me twice during the first days of owning the car. I've never owned a car with a 6-speed transmission before, and it felt weird shifting to 6th, so a couple of times I shifted from 5th->4th, but it was only at like 4000 rpms, so no harm was done.

In my ownership of 3 S2ks, I've only mishifted and overreved during the first S2k. Car was fine just need a clutch change at 25k since I was learning to drive stick for the first time.

I've put 20,000 miles on the car and mis-shifted twice in one day a couple of weeks ago. I went from 4th to 3rd instead of 4th to 5th. It only went up to about 7000rpm, though.

I mis-shift a lot going from 5th to 6th, and accidently shifting to fouth. But thats like a downshift so no real problem there. I just feel like a idiot doing it. First car that i've ever had the luxury of a 6th speed.

I've never misshifted and the whole sixth gear thing is not new to me. I had an RSX type S and a TSX before this car and both of those acuras have a sixth gear.

When the car is new it's easy to do. The shifter is very tight and it takes almost a conscious effort to get it right every time.
I've got about 800mi. on my car now and a miss shift is almost a suprise . A couple hundred more and and never another miss shift I hope.

I machanically overrev at the track a couple of week ago going from 3rd to 2nd instead of 3rd to 4th....to make a long story short, the car drove fine but when we pull the valve cover off to do a quick inspect, both intake retainers were crack/scretch on number 4. Anyway, I thought we might as well do it right and replaced all of the retainers...good thing we did as it turns out every single retainer on the intake side is cracked in at least 2 places. And with the visual inspected we did in the beginning, we could only see 2 that were crack (the rest look fine) so this show that a quick visual inspect is still not exactly enough to determined all of the damages. My engine would probably have blown on the next track day even after we replaced the 2 that were badly cracked.
