ive shifted from 6-2 when trying to go from 6-4 once. it scared me a little but i dont even think i hit the rev limiter but the revs got up there pretty high. i pushed the clutch back in quick enough that i saved it from anything bad happening. since then when i wanna go from 6-4 i push in the clutch, shift to 5th and then down to 4th and let out the clutch and it seems to flow better into it.

i use to mis-shift my downshifts, but in a sort of bizzaro way
by going into the next gear...
instead of 3rd into 2nd, it would be 3rd-4th or...
when i wanted to do 4th to 3rd... id end up with 4th-5th,
i suppose its better than the traditional misshift of going into too low a gear
but that floaty, torqueless feeling thru the turns was nonetheless

A couple of months after I picker her up I was downshifting from 5th to 4th and accidentally went to 2nd. Didn't let the clutch out all the way stopped it about 7500 rpm. No worries on it.

I mis-shift several times going from 5th to 6th.
However, those are usually at cruising speed on free way, so no engine damage at all.
Now when I shift the gear to 6th, I intentionally pull the nob to outside.

funny this topic came up. ive never mis shifted.. but i had a DINAN Z3 try and race me the other day as i was cruising around.. (i dont street race so when he revved i just ignored) he launched in first , shifted to second(@ red tires chirp) went to shift into 3 and went back into 1st (BOOOOOM) then car sounded horrrible.. sounded like an evo w/ modded cams.. (very erratic sounding) he pulled off road and never even glanced at me as i cruised by at around 35mph just chillin at 3500 in 4th

as for shifting in the S.. 1--2 i have right hand on the right side of knob pushing left as i pull down. 2-3 i just push straight up w/ skin between thimb and pointer.(auto goes to right), 3-4 down w/ 2 fingers.. 4--5 i put hand on the left side of shifter which naturally pushes the shifter right w/o appling rightward force. and then 5-6 same thing w/ hand on left side auto puts rightward force w/o trying and pull down.. my hand did this naturally after a few miles of ownership and ive been happy w/ results since.. even when driving fast my hand automatically shifts from side to side on the knob. allowing me to simple push up/down and not apply any side to side force on the knob. try it its weird.
