With all the talk of differential problems I'm wondering if it's a rare problem like the #4 cylinder problem or a more widespread problem. Have more than a handful of owners had failures?

Mine currently whines on occaision, and sometimes groans on low speed tight turns, especially when I have a passenger. It also seems to generate a little bit of wheel hop.. at some point I'll get around to taking by the dealer to get checked out.

I'd like to know how many of the failed diffs have been subjected to 7,000-8,000 rpm clutch drops!

I know of one failed diff that never had anything but normal street starts and zero high RPM clutch drops. That car also developed an occasional metal on metal sound from the rear within 1000 miles of the diff replacement.

I think what people are missing here is that if your tires spin thats ok. The LSD helps with it. Usually its on gravel or on ice or in a hard turn. What is going to stress this LSD the most is WOT and spinning wheels.

Honda put super sticky tires on this car and a so so clutch. If you push the car to hard something is going to give. Make the clutch beefly whats down the line that is going to break.

Guess what we gotta do is get rid of the LSD! Just make it a fixed differential. How bout that.

Or we can just.....NOT DRAG RACE THIS CAR. That includes the stop light to stop light wheel spinning/smoking races.

I drive my car every day(except when there is a foot of snow!) and I have 27,000 miles on the tach. I have no loud noises etc from my car. I have done a couple donuts here and there little wheel spin here and there. Though NO 6,000 RPM clutch drops except for 1-2 times(pre 3,000 miles).

I drive the car hard at times though I don't and never thought this car was a 0-60 or 1/4 mile car! It makes its fun after your going and expecially in the twisties!

So, as long as i don't do any 7-8000rpm clutch drops, the LSD and clutch will be fine?

I'll bring my car to the track often now, i want to know if it'll ruin the LSD and clutch.

I think the problem with this poll is that I know of other people who have had 2 or more diffs go bad, but I think I'm the only one that kept the car after that.
