Headlight Adjusting?
hey guys,
i posted this question before and all i got was opinions instead of answers...
the s2k's driver side headlights are supposed to be lower (less blinding to on coming traffic) however my driver light is really high and blinding...
my lights are way off and i already got a warning for them...
i piss people off when i drive behind them and i hate when peoples lights blind me...
my question is...
WITH OUT GOING TO THE DEALER... I HATE THE DEALER AND I'M NOT WASTING A DAY THERE...
HOW DO I ADJUST THESE LIGHTS MYSELF?
THANKS,
Tommy

The lights are DOT approved, and adjusted correctly from the factory. They can't give you a ticket for them. Federal government regs supercede state and local regs. So tell the pig off...
If you want to mess with them there is an adjuster on the back of the units. It looks like a little white gear if I'm not mistaken, at least this is what was on my other Hondas. I havent messed with the S2000's lights. I suppose I could look in my service manual if thats not right.

KeithD is correct. On the rear of the headlight assembly is an adjuster that you use a phillips head screwdriver to turn. It looks kinda like a bottle cap. They're accessible through the small holes in the fender walls. The Helm manual states the height of the beams should be "52mm below headlight height". I think the headlight height is measured by the small mark in the clear plastic that is directly in front of the HID lens. However, it then states "if necessary, adjust the headlights to local requirements".
The two headlights should be adjusted to the same height. The cutoff line on each headlight has two levels; The left side is lower (for LHD cars); when shining against a wall, the pattern should look like this:
____/-------_____/----------.
The lower line of your two headlights should be at the same level as each other.
The headlight height is easily adjustable with a long Philips screwdriver. The screws are located behind the lights, accessible from under the hood). Get your dealer to show you how; you can adjust the lights yourself in about 5 minutes.

ok, this is interesting. my drivers side headkight is SUPPOSED to be lower than the passenger? it annoyed me to see the difference when it was shining on the wall on my garage. i can stop being annoyed?
I know you have an 02, but is it used? Have you gotten into an accident with it? Your headlights should not be like that from the factory... that is something that is not missed at final inspection.
Notice that each headlight has two levels (i.e. the top border, where the light stops). The lower level of each light should be at the same height as each other, and the upper level... you get the idea. If you park close to the wall, you'll see that each light has two levels. At greater distances (like more than 8') the two "blend" into one, making it look like the left side is lower than the right.

hey thanks all so much...
my drivers light is lower when beeming on the wall but blinding as hell when driving behind someone...
i've seen plenty s2k's to know mine as not adjusted properly...
i know this should have been done at the dealer but then again my s2k seems way higher than others...
NO SPRINGS SPACERS ARE LEFT IN BTW...
so basically i got a bobo s2000.
thanks for all the tips,
i'll try this out...
hopefully i'll find where the phillips goes.
thanks again

Forgot to add that the Helm manual states the beams should be 52mm below headlight height when parked on a level surface with the tires inflated properly from 25 feet away.
I recently removed the orange diffuser from my headlights and I think they're pointing a little low now. I planned on simply adjusting them up a little and then going for a drive (at night) to ensure they're not in the eyers of oncoming drivers.
