can anyone recommend a brand of seat heater that is a quality part? i have these in one of my cars but the two pads dont seem to heat equally. the butt pad is always on the "burn your ass" setting while at the same time the back is on luke warm at best.

looking for some consistency in the heat settings.

Could you clarify which of "these" you actually have? There have been several different products recommended thus far and it would be helpful to know which product you are currently using.

Hey Rick,

Good luck on the install man. It's pretty straight forward. As a recommendation, get a set that is about 9" wide or just under. Wider ones can be a pain to install properly. If you hurry, you might be able to jump on the end of this group buy deal from my sol/sky friends: http://kappaperformance.com/index.php?topic=3625.0

Good stuff

I've used the W.E.T. Automotive ones twice---their quality is outstanding---since they're OEM to 23 car companies (including Honda, Ferrari, Porshe, Audi, BMW, Bentley, etc) they have to be good or these companies wouldn't use their seat heaters---all connections, wiring, etc is absolute top notch.
You can get them for a great price by ordering them direct from the sole US Distributor (where other installers get them)--Cartek Distributing--their best 2 seat kit runs $158 for both seats----
Their warranty is 36 months (same as the Check Seat Heaters mentioned above)

Just called Cartek about the WET and the quote for 2 seats deluxe was $90 USD. May be time to jump on it

Edit, that was for the Carbotex warmers, not the W.E.T

Maybe off-topic, but I remember on pimp my ride (LOL) where they made air conditioned seats by putting a bunch of small fans in seats and using perforated leather. Cool idea, I always thought. Especially where I'm at in Phoenix!

I really want to do this but this will be my last winter in Illinois. I am moving to California this August! No more winters for the S!
