Beware of the BMW, although you should have warranty left, it might be a nightmare anyhow. At least get the service history from a BMW dealer to see if this car has recurring issues. Service records won't tell you much, you want to see all the problems they have worked on and see if they were able to fix them. Also, these M3s have had issues with the engine, I think BMW increased engine warranty to 100,000 miles.

That's a great deal on the BMW as long as it has an extended warranty. I just bought an 04 S2000 but would've considered the M3 if that kind of price came up. If the M3 is in good shape and a mechanic checks it over, I would go for the M3. It should depreciate less than the S2000 because it's used.

those m3s are a much more satisfying daily driver than our S2ks... However, on the weekend, its great to put the top down and go cruising with the woman... can't get that out of the top up m3...

Get the M3...I love my S2K but there ain't nothing like an M series BMW.

I would say get the M3 if you can knock another k off the price.
I would also consider a new EVO at that price range.
