The cover on my '00 had pulls on all the fasteners. The ones in the back of the boot operate just like the ones on the elastic straps, but I *STILL* had a miserable time trying to get my hand in there to unsnap them.

 

Problem is you need pencils for fingers to get to the friggn rear snaps.
