HELP! changing radio lids.

Default HELP! changing radio lids.

hey

I just got a 04 radio lid to replace the 02 black one. Anyways the instructions where to remove the radio panel (the whole piece including the air vents and the lid itself) Well i finally took off the panel but couldnt find a way to take out the lid Is the lid connected to the whole panel!? cuz im not sure where to unscrew to remove the lid... am i not seeing a hidden screw or something??

PLZ HELP!

there are two expansion PINS holding the door to the vent panel. Get a small allen wrench or punch or reverse a small drill bit and tap them out one at a time. They only go one direction. Pay close attention to the spring inside. Once the pins come out, the door will fall away and that spring will fall out. Reverse the order of things to install the new one.

Before I start tapping in the wrong direction, which way do they come out? Should they be tapped from the inside so they come out on the outside or vice versa?

I changed mine i dont remember which way it went out but i dont think it matters.. I think you could take it out which ever way it seems easier

Thanks for the offer, but no need, I got it figured out. Had to whack it a few times but eventually those pins popped out. :-)
