I am new at this forum and I am planing to buy a S2k in about 2months. But I have a couple of problems. One I am not to sure witch year to get. I was trying to find out what is the best year. But never got a good enough answer to make a chose. also i want to know what engine mods I should do. I have a big list in my head but it never hurts to hear what other people have to say.

03-05 are probably the best years.

Fuzzy dice are good mods.

 

What the he** are you talking about?

 

2003 is the same body style as 2000, 2001 and 2002.
2004 the body changed along with the engine and other stuff.


IMHO 2002 and 2003 are the best.
The engine still revs to 9 grand and you have a glass rear window.

 

2001 Spa Yellow is known to be the best.

It can go up to 11.

 

2002 to 2003 IMO (I traded MY00 for MY02)

Mods: the car is pretty maxed out engine wise but you can always supercharge; comptech and vortex offer one that will add anywhere between 70 and 80 horsepower for around $6000.

 

How about a more descriptive title...

IMO 02-03 are the best. If you are a more relaxed driver 04-05 might be better due to the torque.

I'd say the biggest bang/$ for mods are a new 4.56:1 rear gearset. That will give about a 13% gearing advantage which is pretty close to what 20-25HP would give you and goes for about $1000 installed.
