Corvette. The rest of the cars you mentioned are still slow.

STi's and Evos are slow too - have you ridden in one? And 350Z?

Unless you are near 400 whp, any car is going to "feel" slow according to what you're looking for. I know what you're wanting - and I know that you are not going to be happy unless you have a car that is in this kind of power range.
I rode in plenty of Evo's and STi's...in fact I owned an STi. I personally would never call them slow. Maybe compared to a turbo S2000 they are, but for me they're very fast. And I'm definitely leaning toward the Vette...I might be test driving one this week and we'll see

Love C5 Corvettes, and today I finally got to take a good look at it... man people were not exaggerating about the Cavalier interior.
I personally don't mind the interior at all...it's not as nice as the C6 but I honestly don't see anything great about the S2000's interior either. I'm more concentrated on audio...and I've got that covered

I recently put in 4.56 gears...now the car is QUICK in EVERY gear.

Don't sell your S short, nothing else on the road will put a smile in your head like it.

Might want to add the Infiniti G35 to that list.

Find a nice C5 Z06 and fill your need. If that's beyond your means, just find a nice C5 and add a few bolt-ons. My dad's vette gained 17 HP from a freaking in take. Displacement is nice.

What you should do is just go out and get like a 2002 M3.

Fast fun pretty good handiling (not like the S) but pretty good, looks hot, and you can choose if you want a convertible or not.

Just my .002

This would be the best choice out of everything posted thus far.
Vette's are crap. They always break down and they are such a mid 40's, bald guy, with too much sun type of ride.

4.56 gears, a SC, and exhaust should do the trick. I have the SC and exhaust and am already happy. I can't wait to get the 4.56 gears.

Vettes are crap but BMW's aren't? BMW's are by far the worst cars ever (as far as reliability goes). Ever talked to someone in their service department?

And as for the Vette...I don't really understand the stereotype you chose for the average driver. I've seen everyone from old white guys, to black guys, to even old women driving them. And I'm on their forums and never hear of them breaking down as a normal occurence. The only reason that a Vette is something I'm really considering is because it's very fast (compared to the S2000), it looks awesome IMO, and they've been making the C5 for long enough that you can get a good deal on one by now.

Ah, my DCFC friend again . That's awesome that your dad has a Corvette. My dad has a Harley and I always ask him to buy a roadster instead! I wanted a Z06, but it's more money and I've decided that I want a targa top. Z06's only come in hardtop or vert, and I'm not a fan of the way Corvette convertibles look. But yeah, I would probably do some bolt-ons since my friends all have GTO's with headers, cams, exhausts, etc. I'd be jealous
