HELP - My car is bucking when the engine is cold!
Hello,
I've had my car for a few months now (MY00), and when I pull out of my parking lot in the morning and the engine is cold, I slowly accelerate up to about 6k. About 8 out of 10 times, my car will completely buck forward like it has lost all fuel pressure or something. It will do it 2 or 3 times and stop for the rest of the day. Won't do it again until the engine has sat for at least 15 hours. I use premium fuel all the time and haven't had it long enough for an oil change yet. Any ideas on why it might be doing this? Honda said they will look at it for me, but I just know they are going to say they can't reproduce it in the morning. By the way, I've had the TSB's done for the tranny and the clutch. I think this really started happening after they performed the TSBs. If anyone has any insight I'd greatly appreciate it.
Thanks,
PJ

Well.....you hit the wall.....
If the motor is not fully warmed up (3 bars on temp guage) it wont let you VTEC, and you shouldnt try. Its basically a safety feature.
Typicall rule of thumb, < 3 Bars on temp guage = NO VTEC!!!

I hope that you don't make the same mistake and waste the money on the Bose system. There are much better audio products out there.
Check avsforum.com
It deals with higher end audio and video items. As always, you need to take the posts with a grain of salt, but an overall consensus can be obtained.
For the most part, Bose is low end audio with high end cost and marketing. Definitely not worth the price.

TVP...the Bose system came stock in my Benz, just enhanced it with a sub, deck, and a changer. Actually sounded pretty good, no one could believe it was a stock system....
I currently have a Boston Pro 10" SVC 4 ohm in my S along with a JVC KDSX980 HU, and i am soon getting a set of Diamond Audio 500.25's for $75 with crossovers and everything!!!
That should do it for me for now, stereos are not my biggest concern, esp in this car!

, It's not a good practice to TRY to VTEC the car without the engine oil being up to normal operating temperatures.
