Default help and suggestion needed..

3 weeks of ownership and my rear end is damaged ...well i don't know who or what hit my car but it scraped some paint off...no dents but the color coat is peeling off and exposing the primer...

approximately 2cmx2cm area of paint peeled off..(approximately the size of our key fob)..

so i was wondering if i could patch it up with some touch up paint or it has to go to the bodyshop?

thanks

If it is the bumper, you should just repaint the entire bumper (if you want a clean look). You can use touchup paint, but it will stick out. If you remove the bumper yourself and take it into the body shop, they can get the paint code from the door sill tag and match it very closely (never perfect.....but if it is a good job, it will not be noticable). The best thing is that you SHOULD be able to drop the bumper off and pick it up at the end of the day.

Just my $.02

John

ps-If you car is Silverstone, of any metallic paint for that matter, if will be VERY difficult to match perfectly....Make sure they do it RIGHT.
