You do know that above 6000k, you'll be losing visibility, right? About 4500k is the brightest. 8000k is not only going to look like crap-pepboy-special colored bulb, but you won't be able to see too well, either. Stick with OEM, as it looks the best and performs well, IMO.

yea, at 8000 you're going to look worse than those cheap blue halogens.

the audis and TL have what you want right?

those are on the higher temp range. I think they are like 5300K.

I'm not sure what you are ultimately looking for, but I would not go higher than 6000k. For starters as everyone has said, you will lose intensity(and therefor visibility) if you go higher than the stock 4300k bulbs. The higher you go in the Kelvin range, the less performance you're gonna get.

The s2k stock setup does throw an intense purple color when viewed from certain directions. This is also what you're seeing when you observe the audi, bmw, etc headlights.

I was also under the impression that the higher K bulbs use a tinting on the actual bulbs (similar to the cheap halogen pep boys bulbs) which would cause the bulb to burn hotter and shorten its lifespan. If you go with 6000K you can get the Philips Ultinon bulbs which use a different salt inside the lamp to alter the color ouutput, and are supposed to be a good, durable product.

I would check out http://www.xenondepot.com. They have lots of info, and have sold a good deal of kits and bulbs to folks over at ClubRSX.

The stock bulbs on the S2k rock. Very purple around the borders, too.
